Snow is predicted to start falling at 7am, with a peak at 10am, with snow still be forecast in peak areas near Mount Canobolas and Jenolan Caves.
The predicted snow on Friday will come at the end of a week where the maximum is not expected to reach 15 on any day and overnight minimums will hover around zero degrees.
The bureau is predicting a high of 13 for Oberon on Thursday, and a low of zero. Friday's temperature will see a high of 7 to a minimum of 2. On Saturday the overnight temperature will drop to -2 degrees and Sunday it will be -1.
Oberon received its first snowfall in 2016 on June 25, in 2017 it was late on August 7 and in 2018 the first snowfall was on May 10.
