Black smoke was coming from the roof area and flames were visible through the windows when the station attended the house fire in town at 4.21pm on Thursday.
Crews using breathing apparatus gained entry and extinguished the fire, meaning the damage was isolated to the kitchen/dining room, a station spokesperson said.
The Rural Fire Service, ambulance and police also attended.
