CANOWINDRA High School travelled to Oberon High School on Thursday, March 14 in their first step to retaining their Rural Cup title.
The rain held off and good sportsmanship was shown from both teams.
At lunchtime, Oberon held a narrow lead. The sausage sizzle, popcorn and live musical entertainment made for a relaxed, friendly break while Benny the Bull mixed with the students.
The afternoon session saw Canowindra take the lead and, in the end, finish in front. Oberon can still win the cup this year, however, it will be hard work as we need to win the Molong tie next term and hope that Molong beat Canowindra.
A huge thank you to the organisational team and all staff in general, who, as usual, came together to make it a great day. Also, thank you to all the family and community members who took the time to come down and support the students.
Well done to all the students as they tried hard for their school and showed a commitment for their fellow students.
