THE executive committee of the Oberon High School Student Representative Council was elected in early March.

President is Malcom Voerman, vice-president is Emma Schrader, secretary is Rebecca Stewart and treasurer is Sancia Moran.

The executive committee, in conjunction with the school captains, will work with the rest of the SRC to make 2019 a huge success by representing students' ideas and needs and leading the student body in fundraising, athletic and academic pursuits.

March 4 was the first SRC event for the new committee when the SRC led the Clean Up Australia Day activities.

Joss Group, which manages the cleaning of our school, continually comments on our cleanliness compared to other sites, so it only took a short time for the whole student body to enthusiastically gather the rubbish and have Oberon High School grounds looking “spick and span”.

WORKERS: Jessie Blinco, Ashleigh Hopson and Rebecca Stewart with some of the rubbish collected on Clean Up Australia Day at Oberon High School.

YOUTH WORKER

OBERON High has established a partnership with Centacare and Oberon Council to provide youth services to students.

Centacare provides a youth worker each Tuesday, while council provides the community centre to house the program.

This is a great initiative and will supplement the extensive wellbeing program already operating within the school.

Youth worker Sharnie Davis will become a familiar face to students as she forms relationships during the term.
