Twenty-three children registered to participate, reading a total of 455 books. The theme for this year was “Curious creatures”.
Awards and prizes were presented by mayor Kathy Sajowitz when the wrap party was held at Oberon Library on Tuesday, February 7.
Winners in the three categories were:
Preschool: Vivien Weckert, age 4, who read 40 books.
Infants: Aurora McCarthy, age 6, who read 40 books.
Primary: Molly Thompson, age 10, who read 70 books.
Each of these prize-winners received a $20 shop local voucher and books.
Highly commended went to Belle Howie, age 9, who read 50 books.
Each time the children read 10 books, they returned their reading logs to the library and were given a chance to select a square on the Curious Creatures Grid for a special prize draw.
Winners of these prizes were James Curran, Philippa Webb, Scarlett McCarthy and Caley McKellar.
Thanks goes to Oberon Council, Friends of Oberon Library and Oberon Arts Council for their support.
