SINCE its formation a couple of weeks ago, the new committee for the Oberon and District Museum has been busy familiarising itself with museum artefacts, as well as organising sub-committees to look after key areas of the museum and its workings.
The committee wants to encourage the Oberon and district community to join in this exciting venture.
Application forms to become a member of the Oberon and District Museum Society are available from Oberon library and can be returned to the library once completed.

These forms will also be available from committee members Col Roberts, Laurie McMahon, Pam Dellow, Warren Rawson, Astrid Kriening and Maree Arrow.
Membership will cost $10 per financial year ($5 for pensioners) and members get free entry to the museum.
Becoming a financial member is one way to show support for the museum, but the committee is also hoping that some members might be willing to help out with its sub-committees – grounds maintenance; documentation of outside exhibits; cataloguing and display; rosters for opening times; the cottage and its maintenance, just to name a few.
