The NSW Government has contributed $500,000 to the project from round one of the Stronger Country Communities Fund announced by Member for Bathurst Paul Toole in September 2018.
The Oberon Skate Park and Youth Precinct project involves the construction of a new 542 square metre in-ground, bowl-style skate park, as well as landscaping, street furniture, gable roof shelters and lighting.

Oberon Youth Council has actively participated in community consultation processes to design the project, which has an estimated total cost of $529,000.
The facility will cater for skaters of all ages and abilities and will include a beginner level quarter pipe, grind ledges and grind rails around the edges of an intermediate to advanced level bowl.
Oberon Council’s planning and development director Shane Wilson said the skate park should be completed in six to eight weeks with an official opening in April.
