A $100,000 grant from the Stronger Country Communities (SCC) Fund has underpinned the initiative.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said Footpaths to Fitness had helped connect the CBD of Oberon and local services for pedestrians.

He said the SCC Fund had resulted in the Oberon region receiving more than $1 million for a variety of local infrastructure projects.
“Footpaths to Fitness was one of these projects and has resulted in better links in the town and villages for people on foot or using mobility scooters,” he said.
“In particular, this project has targeted footpath infrastructure around schools and the central business district by constructing 1.2km of new footpaths within a two kilometre radius of the CBD.”
Mr Toole said kerb ramps have been installed or remodelled on corridors where mobility scooter use is high.
Black Springs and Burraga’s paths will connect locals to schools and facilities.
