Bathurst MP Paul Toole visited the workshop of the mechanical maestro to see first-hand the business he runs from his specially designed garage at his home on the Abercrombie Road.
The business, aptly called “Richard’s Engine Room”, brings to the fore Richard’s skills gained from building performance engines for the past 40 years.
“Richard is a mechanic and toolmaker by trade who has history in both drag and circuit racing,” Mr Toole said.
“For the past few years he has been working to develop a fuel atomiser to improve the performance of the Holley and similar carburettors.
“All over Australia Richard’s new customers are raving about the changes to their motors and how their cars are now performing.”
Richard said it was fantastic to have Paul visit his home workshop which enabled him to show him the fuel atomiser he’s created.
“We are getting rave reviews and customers are saying it has made their cars run a lot smoother, giving them better torque low down,” he said.
Mr Toole said Richard’s story shows that a small business from Black Springs can match it with the best.
“I look forward to hearing more from Richard because there’s no doubt he’s onto something big,” he said.
KEEP SPORT FUN
SPORT brings our communities together, whether it be getting together with some friends to cheer on your favourite team, or getting out and playing yourself.
As the pre-summer season kicks off across the state, it is a great time to remind ourselves that when it comes to kids’ sport, it is more about the fun than the scoreboard.
“That is why this week we have kicked off Shoosh for Kids awareness week,” Mr Toole said.
"Running from November 12 to 18, it is a great opportunity for all community members, spectators and little athletes across our electorate to keep junior sport focused on fun this season.
“The key to the campaign is that spectators remain aware there is no place for negative comments in local sport."
