TUTTI FRUITY
STUDENTS of Oberon Public School have enjoyed our weekly ‘Tutti Fruity’ Wednesdays promoting healthy eating habits.
Students are loving eating a variety of fruits including a mystery fruit each week.
Thank you to Mr Ross Gibson and Brayson Forest Pallets for funding this important new project.
We can’t wait to see what the mystery fruit is going to be this week!
SHOWGIRL HELP
ST Joseph’s School's stage 3 students had the opportunity to offer their time and assistance at the Oberon Showgirl dinner.
These students always take on opportunities both at school and in the community. They are fine examples of leaders and young women.
RECONCILIATION
LAST week, St Joseph’s School Year 2 students had the pleasure of a visit from our Parish Priest, Fr Filby.
Students enjoyed discussing parables and how Jesus was always willing to forgive and allowed others to be reconciled and because of this, they become a better person.
This is a great message for us all, to forgive others and help each other in becoming the best role models for all whom we meet.
Year 2 are excited for receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation today at 5.45pm in the St Ignatius’ Church. We will continue to support each and every one of these students.
JUMP ROPE
JUMP Rope for Heart is a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program that has been run by the Heart Foundation for 35 years.
It’s a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills, but it also helps raise funds for vital heart research and education programs.
Since Jump Rope for Heart started in 1983, schools like St Joseph’s have raised more than $75 million for the Heart Foundation’s lifesaving work.
St Joseph’s students launched this wonderful program and will be skipping throughout the term during Crunch & Sip break. Whilst developing their own fitness they also are aiming to fundraise for this great cause.
CHANG AWARD
VICTOR Chang was a surgeon who was well respected by the community. He was often seen in the media as he was a high profile heart surgeon.
The Victor Change Award, named in his honour, is dedicated to students across the state who have a interest and wish to pursue science in the future.
This year Oberon High School student Sancia Moran has been named as a recipient. Sancia will travel to Dubbo later in November to receive her award.
