The guest presenter for September will be the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS), offering information on how to protect your home and property for the upcoming fire season as part of the Get Ready Weekend.
The NSW RFS is calling on all Bathurst, Lithgow and Oberon residents to join with NSW RFS volunteer firefighters and prepare for the coming bushfire season on Get Ready Weekend.
Residents can get involved in fun family events including kids’ activities, firefighting displays, opportunities to get aboard a fire truck, and see some of their specialist equipment. Importantly, market-goers can also get some information and advice on preparing their properties for the bushfire season.
Stallholders will have a range of locally produced items including beef, lamb and duck, fruit and vegetables, bread and honey, jams and preserves, port and wine, olive oil, garden plants, chocolate and sweets.
There will be bacon and egg rolls, made with free range eggs, from the Bush Fire Brigade barbecue and freshly brewed coffee available all day.
Music from The Tarana Tigers will be playing and there are shady umbrellas to sit under while enjoying the atmosphere of a country market.
The market committee will be donating the proceeds of the day to the Drought Appeal.
