WORLD-CLASS local attractions, Jenolan Caves and Mayfield Garden, have embraced the spirit of Oberon Outdoor Week and have decided to give back to the community.
From September and in conjunction with Oberon Outdoor Week, both the caves and the garden will offer a 50 per cent discount to all residents within the 2787 postcode.
The discount will be on an ongoing basis and applies to show cave tours and garden admission.
“After being approached by Oberon Council to create the 50 per cent discount for Oberon Outdoor Week, we were inspired to extend the discount to an ongoing basis to encourage all locals to get out and about and see the amazing things that are happening at Mayfield Garden,” Mayfield Garden CEO Hamish Keith said.
In 1984, the Hawkins family began their garden surrounding Mayfield House with the vision to create something unique. Mayfield is now one of the largest privately-owned gardens in the world.
"We are 100 per cent behind any new tourism and outdoor initiatives that can bring vibrancy to the region and it is great to see new things such as Outdoor Week coming online,” Mr Keith said.
Jenolan Caves Reserve Trust director Jodie Anderson said Jenolan Caves is one of the leading adventure-based attractions in NSW, so Oberon Outdoor Week “is very aligned with our offering and we are delighted to be involved”.
"The region has so much to offer in the outdoor adventure segment and new initiatives such as Outdoor Week highlight an opportunity for locals to get active and enjoy some of the amazing offerings located in their own backyard,” she said.
"Like Mayfield, we extended the discount to an ongoing basis to provide flexibility for locals to plan their next visit.”
Those who want to redeem their discount are asked to show their proof of residence (such as a driver’s licence or rates notice) at the ticket office of either destination.
Some exceptions apply.
