Fiona Ogilvie was a wonderful guest speaker and she shared many valuable tips with us as she recounted her efforts establishing her various gardens.
As spring gathers pace, the entries in our OGY award are increasing, and it is becoming harder to decide which entry deserves a vote. It will be interesting to see the eventual winner.
This month sees the beginning of our new-format meetings. From now on, a meeting will be held in the Uniting Church Hall, with excursions further afield as the occasion arises.
These may not be on our usual meeting day, as venues are often only open on weekends. Whenever an outing is in the offing, members will be advised by email and transport arranged. The meeting this month is on Monday, September 17 at 10am, with the hall opening at 9.30am for set-up.
The meeting will finish at 11am and will include our usual activities. Our plant of the month discussion will be daffodils (what else!), with some talk on herbs carried over from last month. Don't forget to bring something to enter in the OGY award.
At time of writing, a guest speaker has not been finalised, but if so, there will be a short break for morning tea first. From time to time there will be a short excursion to a garden close at hand after a meeting.
After the recent rain, members' gardens should be looking much revived and ready for visitors. New members are very welcome. Inquiries to Nancy on 6336 1225.
