Mr Stewart is the Oberon Commonwealth Bank manager and Mr Roberts is the director of asset finance market positioning and engagement, business and corporate finance, institutional banking and markets.
Sessions included instructions on writing a resume, and information to guide them through the process of presenting themselves at a corporate level interview process, presented by an executive working in the human resources department. Students also participated in a mock interview session.
To follow up, the students travelled to Orange on August 23 for professional interviews at Commonwealth Bank.

As part of the final stage of the program, the students were asked to create a professional resume and cover letter, applying for one of three jobs at the bank.
They then went through the same processes used by Commonwealth Bank human resources staff to evaluate all applications and, finally, the students attended a one-on-one interview with bank staff.
The feedback gained from Commbank staff was invaluable for the students, giving them an insight into working life and tips and tricks for writing resumes and succeeding in interviews.
Generally, the senior business studies students gained a valuable experience of the corporate world and how a large corporation operates.
Specifically, what they were involved in on the excursions is part of the business studies course, which is a major advantage in their studies.
CommBank has a longstanding commitment to supporting the financial capability of Australian youth. The education initiatives aim to prepare them for the workforce of the future.
Lauren’s leading
IN addition to being part of the Commonwealth Bank Partner a Class program, Year 11 student Lauren Mimenza spent four days in the July school holidays attending the UBS Finance Young Women’s Leadership Academy at Macquarie University.
Lauren was selected as part of an elite group of young people from across NSW to learn how different parts of the banking and financial sector operate. This amazing opportunity gave Lauren experience working with leaders and experts within the business industry.
In addition to making some great friends, Lauren has established contacts that will prove valuable in the financial business world.
