THE Mayfield 2018 National Cool Climate Wine and Food Festival is returning for its second year and organisers say it promises to be bigger and better than last year.
The inaugural 2017 event brought in more than 600 visitors and won a NSW Government grant of $20,000 from Destination NSW for marketing the 2018 event more than 100 kilometres beyond Mayfield – which is set to increase visitation to the region.
A spokesperson said Mayfield is a “spectacular world-class setting for premium cool climate wines and the best in local gourmet food”.
“Receive a complimentary commemorative wine glass upon entry as you browse wines from local vineyards and enjoy vibrant live performances from top local musicians,” the spokesperson said.
“The National Cool Climate Wine and Food Festival will be a family-friendly event with free face-painting and a giant flower pit.
“The Hawkins' Family Garden, an additional 49 hectares, will be open for public viewing in beautiful spring bloom.
“Garden features include Australia's second largest maze, the Cascade and Temple, the Walled Kitchen Garden and the Hawkins' Family Chapel.
“And enjoy free access to rowing across Mayfield Lake and a complimentary hop-on, hop-off bus will be available to help you explore the garden.”
