IT was freezing, windy and cloudy on Sunday, so it wasn’t a surprise that some residents woke up to a fresh dusting of snow.
From Black Springs to Jenolan Caves and in town in Oberon, snow fell right across the region on a day when the temperature peaked at just five degrees.
Snow also fell in Lithgow, Blayney and even Orange, where the city’s premier rugby league facility – Wade Park – received some of the white stuff during the Group 10 premier league qualifying final between Orange Hawks and Orange CYMS.
The mercury dropped to -1 on the day and with a strong breeze, it would’ve felt much colder than what the actual temperature was saying.
No snow has been forecast for the Central Tablelands in the coming seven days.
However, there’s some great news for farmers in the region with rain forecast to fall on Saturday, Sunday and even maybe Monday in Oberon.
Temperatures in coming days are also set to be an improvement on the freezing conditions last Sunday in Oberon.
