The ABC’s War On Waste program has inspired many people to look at what we can do to recycle more effectively.
The next question is, what happens to our rubbish, as well as recycled products, like glass, plastic, mobile phones and cardboard?
Oberon University of the Third Age will host an afternoon to discuss all these issues on August 22 at the Community Centre Function Room, where Shane Wilson, director of planning and development at Oberon Council, will explain to the gathering what happens to Oberon’s rubbish and recyclables.
The function, which is open to U3A members as well as the public, will commence at 3pm, with afternoon tea to follow.
The University of the Third Age is a worldwide movement that encourages people over 50 to continue to learn new things in a relaxed and friendly environment.
