Roger won the afternoon with 28 points and won't play off the same handicap next week. Balls went to Steve Serong, Joe Casey, Brian Balaam and Alan Cairney.
Members played a stableford event on Saturday. While some sprinkles of rain threatened, it didn't deter participants. Thirty-six played in what turned out to be very pleasant conditions.
Steve Serong continued his good form and was the A grade winner with a fine round of 38 points. Alan Cairney was the runner-up with 37 points.
Lloyd Roots has struck a bit of form and probably a bit of luck. He had a stellar round of 40 points to easily win B grade. Bart Fitzpatrick had a good day on the greens and was runner-up with 39 points.
Nearest the pin on the first was Barry Stubbs, Andrew Yeo was closest on the seventh and Dom York won the 17th. Balls went to Darren Gordon, Barry Lang, Adrian Poulten, Peter Griffiths, Kevin McGrath and Andrew Yeo.
A considerable amount of work was done on the course during the week, mainly to make maintenance easier and quicker. Work included preparation of the new workshop site and stump removal in the parking area.
Golf next Saturday will be an 18-hole stroke, putting competition and monthly medal. Steve Serong will be the event sponsor.
