Last week they were guest speakers at our meeting, sharing their experiences of the training. Luke and Lisa are extremely well-spoken, bright young people and entertained members with their stories. Lisa said going to this training opened her mind to how people can grow to become a better person and leader.
"One of the main concepts learnt was “service above self’ and how satisfying it was to give back to the community," Lisa said. She said she appreciated the opportunity to attend the RYLA course and hopes she continues to grow as a person and to help others.
Luke spoke about his experiences and his keen interest in what the neurologist taught them about how their brains worked together. He said the lecturers were interactive and compelling and thanked Rotary.
It was gratifying to see how these young people conducted themselves as they are the leaders of tomorrow.
