Out of 12 entries selected by Oberon judges and sent on to the Regional in Narromine, seven have been placed as winners of their sections or acknowledged as highly commended. 

The theme for this year's waste product was polystyrene and Mikaela Piper, who conducted a polystyrene recycling workshop in Oberon, received the polystyrene theme overall winner’s award with her creation, “White Elephant”.

Many hours of work were involved, Oberon Waste to  Art organisers were told.

“Other mediums were used in our entries, such as metal, wood, paper and wool, showing a thoughtful approach to what can be remade into stunning artwork,” a spokesperson said.

“Well done and congratulations to all the Oberon winners at the Regional in Narromine, as well as all 80 who entered in our local exhibition.”
