The workshops were conducted by celebrated Australian authors JC Burke and Megan Jacobson and covered topics such as how to get started as a writer, how to build a story, using language to create the desired impact and different ways to make writing more engaging.
The workshops were a wonderful opportunity for the students to meet published authors and talk with them face-to-face.
The students found the workshops insightful and enjoyed hearing how these two authors achieved success.
The students are now keener than ever to continue to pursue their passion for expressing themselves, particularly through creative writing.
Finance forum
CONGRATULATIONS to Oberon High School business studies student Lauren Mimenza who has been invited to take part in the UBS Finance Young Women’s Leadership Academy at Macquarie University from July 9-12.
Lauren will participate in this elite forum with 40 students from around the state who have an interest in the finance/banking industry and are potential leaders in their school or community.
This is a great opportunity for Lauren and complements the innovative Partner a Class program that Commonwealth Bank has with our senior business studies class.
Polding rep
CONGRATULATIONS to St Joseph's School’s Year 6 student Ella Mangan who competed in the Polding soccer team at Tamworth last Friday.
What an amazing achievement to participate at this level and to be able to learn from other students with a similar passion.
