Polystyrene is a material almost impossible to break down in landfill, so come for inspiration in reusing it and forming it into sculptural art.
A free lunch will be included. Items made will be shown at the Waste 2 Art exhibition from May 9 to 12 at the Robert Hooper Community Centre.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, May 5 from 10am to 4pm at the CTC room under the Visitor Information Centre and will be led by Mikaela Piper, who has entered some memorable artwork in previous Oberon Waste 2 Art competitions, some of which have gone on to the regional exhibition.
Places are limited, so contact Mikaela soon on email (preferred) at Mac2b4u@hotmail.com or phone, 0403 301 250 (leave a message).
Polystyrene is a suggested theme this year. Any material can be used for an entry, but most of it must be recycled.
Entry forms are to be handed in by May 1 at council or Oberon Library or mailed to the facilitators, Friends of Oberon Library, PO Box 251, Oberon, 2787, with a description of your work. For more information, contact Kathy Sajowitz, 0428 543 693.
