It was a miserable day in Cowra as the Tigers were smacked 38-6, but now the team will look to get the premiership campaign back on track against Lithgow Workies on Sunday afternoon.
Captain-coach Luke Branighan missed the opening round against Magpies but still remains an outside chance to play this weekend.
If he does miss this weekend, he is expected to be back for the round three clash against St Pat’s.
Branighan also wants to see his side improve its attitude in defence and improve its ball control.
“We threw the ball away too much, gave away some cheap possession and the game swung,” he said.
“This week we need to improve our attitude, particularly in defence, and improve our ball control.”
While Workies were also thumped 42-14 in their opening round clash with St Pat’s, Branighan knows Lithgow is a hard place to travel.
“They’re a very physical side and they don’t take a backwards step,” he said.
“They’ll be tough down there. We only beat them with a field goal last year with 30 seconds to go. If we can control the ball and be smart with it, we won’t be defending all the time.”
