THE Women’s Club Championships are underway, with Elizabeth Pollock winning the first 36 nett trophy.
The Monthly Medal round and putting competition was held last Wednesday, in conjunction with the championships, with Yvonne Collins winning the medal and the Division 2 competition with 72 nett. Second in Division 2 was Marjorie Webb with 73 nett and third was Barbara Coleman with 76 nett. Marjorie also won the putting with 29 putts.
Robyn Stapleton won Division 1 with 73 nett. Second was Robyn Slattery with 77 nett, on a countback from Joan Graham. Robyn Slattery also won the putting with 32 putts, on a countback from Wilma Artery.
On Friday, the ladies played the second round of the championships. Joan Graham won Division 1 with 67 nett. Second was Robyn Slattery with 68 nett and third was Joan Sullivan with 76 nett. Nearest the pin was also won by Joan Sullivan.
Elizabeth Pollock won Division 2 with an excellent 65 nett. Barbara Coleman (71 nett) was second and Colleen Saul (73 nett) third. There was no nearest the pin.
The fourth and final round of the championships will be played next Wednesday.
