IN the spirit of the approaching Commonwealth Games, 17 ladies played in a three-person ambrose, each team decked out in something to reflect the country they were representing.

The course continues to be in great shape and the greens are a pleasure to play on.
The New Zealand team won the day with Glennie McGrath, Elizabeth Pollock and Robyn Slattery taking the honours with 64 nett.
Second was Australia, represented by Bev Dale, Colleen Saul and Helen Toohill with 68 nett.
Third with 69 1/3 nett was England with the Queen participating in the game (complete with crown and pearls) in the form of Flo Spence, along with Barbara Coleman and Joan Sullivan.
Nearest the pin on the first was the Fijian team, with beautifully turned out Joan Graham and Vonda Voytilla, along with Yvonne Collins taking the prize. Nearest the pin on the ninth was the New Zealand team.
Next week will see the third round of the club championships held on the Wednesday, April 11.
The fourth round will be held on the following Wednesday, April 18.
