Federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee has announced the sub-branch was successful under round three of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program and has been awarded a $10,000 grant.

“The funding will go towards construction of the new military museum, helping to increase the floor space,” he said.

“The museum is part of Oberon’s vibrant tourism industry, but confined space has meant much of the collection has remained in storage.

“Eighty per cent of the artefacts in the collection have been donated by community members. I congratulate the Oberon RSL Sub-Branch on securing the funding and for preserving our history for future generations.”
