Within a club there are usually members who have various skills that, when combined with other member skills, make a strong organisation.
Club captain Barry Lang said the club relies heavily on its volunteers to have a lovely course and clubhouse.
“Recently a couple of our members have constructed two sets of steps on banks beside the eighth and ninth tees; others have just sprayed various weeds around the course and reserve,” Mr Lang said.
“Many work in the bar in the clubhouse and others shift the pins on the green and set the course up each week.
“Of course, the workers always get plenty of advice on how things should be done, but in a healthy atmosphere, advice is readily accepted, but not always used.”
The club was fortunate enough to receive a NSW Government grant recently through Member for Bathurst Paul Toole to construct some cart paths around the course.
“Most of our golfers are of the age where they need the use of a golf cart,” Mr Lang said.
“These cart paths will enhance the course and reduce erosion caused by the constant use of carts.
“Just like most organisations, the golf club gets some help from the community. The Titania Motel is sponsoring the senior pennants team this year.”
