THERE was a good turnout of 13 ladies to play a versus par game in the first round of the Arrow’s Newsagency Eliminator last week. Conditions were very pleasant for golf, even though there was a sneaky cold breeze blowing now and again.

First in Division 1 with a square was Robyn Stapleton, who hasn’t been seen on the course for quite a while. Second was Lyn Prowse on a countback from Joan Graham with -2. There was no nearest the pin in Division 1.
First in Division 2 with +1 was Bev Dale, whose golf has also benefited from a Christmas break. Second was Vonda Voytilla with -1 on a countback from Helen Toohill. Marjorie Webb won the nearest the pin comp in Division 2.
Next week will be the third round of the Arrow’s Newsagency Eliminator, which will be a stableford.
