The Lithgow community has been saddened by the death of resident Astrid Ciosmak. She passed away after a crash at Mt Lambie on Wednesday, January 10.

Mrs Ciosmak was 70 years old.

She was the wife of Willi (deceased), mother and mother-in-law of Kerry and Patrick Curtin, Judy and Greg Treavors and grandmother to Emma, Ryan, Tomhas, Beth, Liam and Sarah.

VIEW Zone Councillor Lyn Wren said Mrs Ciosmak would be missed by the Lithgow VIEW Club, of which she had been a member of Lithgow’s VIEW Club since 1978.

“She was a valuable member of the community and did a great deal of work raising funds for the Learning for Life program,” she said.

“She was a staunch advocate of VIEW’s education programs.”

A tribute to Mrs Ciosmak was posted on the club’s Facebook page on Thursday evening.

“Words cannot express the sorrow we are all feeling,” it stated.

“She has been a very valuable committee member serving as one of our program officers for 22 years. She was instrumental in raising a lot of funds for The Smith Family. She was immensely popular with our members and the Lithgow community.

“We will miss her friendship and love.”
