GLENNIE McGrath was the star golfer at the Blue Mountains District Ladies’ Golf Association’s Finals Day held at the Oberon course on December 4.

Glennie was the finalist winner, coming in with 70 nett, and also the winner of the Red Cross Cup.
Robyn Slattery was the finalist runner-up with a nett score of 77.
The scratch winner was Sue Brooks from Lithgow with an 89. The non-finalist winner was Linda Anderson from Leura with 78 nett.
The Oberon ladies also excelled in the Blue Mountains Medals. Robyn Slattery won Division 1, Glennie McGrath won Division 2 and Barbara Coleman was the winner in Division 3.
Oberon also took out the Team Winners competition with Glennie McGrath, Robyn Slattery, Robyn Stapleton and Joan Graham coming in with an unbeaten 225 nett.
Thirty-nine ladies played in the competition, 15 of whom were from Oberon.
Last Wednesday was the Oberon ladies’ 11-hole stableford followed by their Christmas party. Visitors, Eileen and Yvonne Stapleton, both formerly Oberon Golf Club members, enjoyed the game with the local ladies in beautiful conditions.
Winner in Division 1 was Wilma Artery with 21 points on a countback from Joan Graham and third was Glennie McGrath with 20 points. The winner in Division 2 was Bev Dale with 19 points. In second place was Vonda Voytilla with 18 points and third was Helen Toohill with 17 points.
Nearest the pins were won by Helen Toohill, Robyn Slattery and Glennie McGrath.
A delicious Christmas lunch followed the golf, where the annual presentations were made.
Robyn Slattery won the Blue Mountains District Ladies’ Golf Association Jubilee Tankard, as well as the best six scratch and nett scores in Division 1. Joan Graham won the best six scratch and nett scores in Division 2 and Helen Toohill won the best six scratch scores in Division 3. Flo Spence won the best six nett scores in Division 3.
Vets Country Championships winner in the scratch event was Robyn Slattery in Division 1, Jenn Capel in Division 2 and Barbara Coleman in Division 3.
Vets Country Championships winner in the nett event was Lyn Prowse in Division 2 and Colleen Saul in Division 3.
Vets Country Championships senior veteran was Helen Toohill. Women’s Golf NSW Medals senior veteran was Wilma Artery.
Next week’s golf will be a stableford with the trophy provided by the club.
