The bishop has decided to sell St Aidan's, Black Springs, and other properties to meet the cost of making payments to sexual abuse victims, but he has never acknowledged the disrespect shown towards certain parish councillors and church members in the past four years.

If St Aidan's should be sold, it would raise a mere pittance towards the $2 million the diocese is expecting to have to pay out.

It would be interesting to know if any other church with a thriving and energetic congregation is on the bishop's “for sale” list, or whether he is merely using this as an opportunity to rid himself of what he appears to consider a group of challenging parishioners.

It may surprise some to learn that Bishop Palmer has complete power to do as he wishes in this diocese. Not even the Anglican Primate of Australia has authority over him.

DURING the past two years I have attended almost every church service and gatherings associated with St Aidan's Church at Black Springs where these high-minded members neither mentioned the bishop of our diocese nor implied anything about him. However, advertising an Anglican group of people gathering, I would have thought it could only be good publicity.
