Major sponsors, Michael and Branka Anderson of Oberon Motors, are combining with the Oberon Business and Tourism Association to stage the competition.
Oberon’s Christmas lights never fail to delight locals and visitors alike, who slowly cruise the streets admiring the displays.
“Whether you are in the main street or on a suburban block, join in the spirit of giving joy at Christmas with your Christmas lights,” a competition spokesperson said.
“Let your imagination run wild, making sure your display is ready for judging on December 18. There will be lots of prizes for the best decorations in the different categories, so start planning now.
“For details of the categories, call in to Ray White Emms Mooney for an entry form. The People’s Choice Award also means the community will be able to participate in choosing the best display.
“Parents and carers, please note Santa Claus will be on the judges’ bus on the 18th, to say hello to the children.”
