A fractured ankle and muscular issue had kept the Western Region Academy of Sport rider off her bike earlier this season, but watching her race on Saturday it was hard to tell.
Puzicha took out the three-lap handicap plus nabbed a pair of scratch race wins and while missing out in the wheelrace, was delighted for the rider who was first across the line.
Puzicha’s most impressive victory at the Bathurst Velodrome arguably came in her last scratch race. She sat on Fuller’s wheel early on and had some brief turns in front as the field surged.
However, as Puzicha entered the back straight for the final lap and no-one could match her. She went on for a convincing win ahead of Lidcombe Auburn’s Keira Will.
