The golf course was looking beautiful, but it was a good idea to keep away from the unforgiving rough.
Wilma Artery and Marjorie Webb took out the major prizes, winning both the scratch and nett events. They achieved a scratch score of 142, while their nett score was 105¼.
Glennie McGrath and Robyn Slattery came in close behind in the scratch event with 143, while second place in the nett was taken by Joan Sullivan and Vonda Voytilla with 114¾ .
Next week will be a Monthly Medal stroke round. Players are reminded that the starting time will revert back to 9am.
Everyone is invited to join in the Melbourne Cup luncheon at the golf club next Tuesday.
A nine-hole, three-person ambrose will start at 10am, to be followed by lunch. There will be sweeps, so come early to purchase a horse or two.
For the non-golfers, lunch will be served from 1pm. Lunch and golf will cost $20. Lunch only will cost $15.
