Society president Nick Wills says the seating overlooking the main arena is a welcome addition for community members who use the showground.
The total cost of the project was just over $7000.
"The money comes from a government grant and Oberon Council, but the Oberon Show Society, Oberon Campdraft and Oberon Rodeo Committee all contributed $1000 each,” he said.
"Oberon Earthmoving completed the ground work at a 30 per cent discount. Without their support, the project would not have gone ahead.
“We also have to acknowledge the help from Dean Melchers, who delivered the 70 blocks from Bathurst."
Oberon Earthmoving manager Peter Hotham said the company recognises the hard work all the volunteers do and providing the assistance was a way to give back to the community.
Mr Wills said Oberon Council is ready to sow the grass seed and the next step will be installing shade cloth.
He said Oberon Earthmoving is also assisting with the installation of power to the arena's commentator’s box.
"We've also applied for a grant for $19,000 which will be spent on fencing the Dillon Street and North Street boundaries,” he said.
"This will help with security and illegal entry to the showground.
"Next we would like to upgrade the toilet blocks.
“These improvements complement the new catering and cooking upgrades in the main pavilion. In 2016, we received $12,488 through the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program.
“Many events are held at the showground and catering plays an important part in ensuring a successful function.”
Mr Wills said there will be a full day’s entertainment on show day.
“Along with the pavilions, we have the horse events, ute muster, dog trials, food stalls, sideshow alley and the rides,” he said. "Volunteers are working hard to get the grounds in tip-top shape.”
The Oberon Campdraft will be on November 25 and 26, Oberon Show on February 10 and the Oberon Rodeo on February 24 and 25.
