Rosalie Pollock, after many years as our president, decided it was time to pass the baton. We thank her for her wonderful service.
Shirley Arrowsmith, minute secretary, also handed in her notepad after quite some years. In appreciation, Rosalie and Shirley were both awarded life membership.
Office bearers for the year are as follows: president Julie Huie, vice president Suzanne Glennon-Martyn, secretary Lexi Kellam, accounts treasurer Robyn Cann, meeting treasurer Heather Scott, minute secretary will be shared between Jan Hazelwood and Jackie Brazier, who will alternate meetings, and publicity officer is Nancy Brown.
During the regular monthly meeting, we voted to confer life membership on Upper Macquarie County Council weeds officer Jill O'Grady, which she subsequently accepted.
This month we venture forth after some particularly freezing weather. The forecast is promising, so we hope for some warm spring sunshine as we explore two Mount Wilson gardens and Mount Tomah. The focus will be on spring bulbs. Please take all refreshments with you as there is no opportunity to buy food at Mount Wilson. There will be a brief morning tea at the first garden, and lunch when we finish the second garden, before driving to Mount Tomah. Entry fees to all gardens will be paid for by the club.
Please assemble at the Fleming Street bus stop area on Monday, September 18 to arrange car-pooling. We aim to leave at 8.30am sharp. Shrug off the winter blues and join us in a beautiful part of the world. New members are always welcome. Just join us at the bus stop and you will be accommodated.
Inquiries to Nancy on 6336 1225.
