LAST month our Oberon Garden Club members were treated to a highly entertaining talk by nurseryman Bill Grattan. Many questions were answered and our perennials will certainly benefit from his visit.

No doubt this month's speaker will similarly benefit our gardens and help make life easier for us. Jill O'Grady is the current Macquarie noxious weeds officer, and she will speak generally about local weed issues including control, as well as taking questions.
This is a chance for the home gardener to come to grips with weed problems, rather than from a farmer's broader perspective.
As this topic may be of interest as well to the broader community, we are inviting members of the public to join us for this talk this Monday, July 17 at the Uniting Church Hall.
If you are not a club member and wish to attend, please leave a message for Lexi Kellam on 0410 530 698. The talk will commence at 11.45am.
Club members are asked to arrive at the hall at 9.30am for our regular meeting beforehand and to allow us to set up. There will be morning tea and soup and damper lunch as usual.
Cost: $6 for non-providers of food. Inquiries to Nancy on 6336 1225.
