TARANA MARKETS
THE Tarana Community Farmers Market is on this Sunday, May 28, at the fire shed from 10am to 2pm. The demonstration for May is Linda from Simply Bees talking on "how to set up a beehive on your place" along with tastings of fresh honey from the comb.
Regular stall holders will have locally produced meats, wines, bread, cakes and pies, jams and preserves, garden plants and ornaments, Greek sweets, chocolate, olive oil products and much more. Saffron will be available this month from the Ditchfields stall and Milnes from Mudgee will be bringing their chicken pate and gourmet foods.
The Tarana Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade will have bacon and egg rolls and Ruellas Coffee will be serving during the day. Shady market umbrellas provide a place to sit and relax and enjoy the music from the talented local buskers.
MT DAVID CONCERT
WE are delighted to announce the return of cellist David Pereira, pianist Dr Edward Neeman and the Mt David debut of pianist Dr Stephanie Neeman on Sunday, July 2, 2.30pm at Kennedy Park, 185 Loch Erin Rd, Mt David.
Two great cello sonatas are on the programme, one by Rachmaninov, the other composed by Prokofiev. As both are major works, these pieces are rarely heard together.
A piano duet performed by husband and wife team, Edward and Stephanie, is also on the agenda, plus a surprise or two.
“When we opened our home for chamber music performances we had no idea of how popular the concerts would become,” said host, Rod Tuson.
