These workshops were conducted by award winning Australian authors, Melina Marchetta and Will Kostakis.
Oberon students, from years 10 and 11, were immersed in the writing process, collaborating with students from other schools and learning skills that will help with their studies.
This program fosters inspiration for their own creative writing ventures.
The workshops were funded by the Bathurst Writers’ and Readers’ Festival.
Pictured are Hannah Dusselaar, Rona Fitzpatrick, Lisa Keats, Ms Scoffield and Crystal Jeffriess – happy participants in the writing workshops.
Dramatic
Work on our next major production which will happen on May 30, has started in earnest this term.
Yesterday, students who will be involved as performers, backstage or support, met to organise rehearsals.
Any students who still want to get involved in any aspect of this amazing production should contact Miss McTrustry.
St Joseph’s School

Congratulations to St Joseph’s School's talented team who ran at Coolah on Tuesday May 2.
The team consisted of Sam Briffa, Isabelle Youman, Mac Ryan, Hannah Harris, Hunter Cutting, Neive Hogan, Liam Stocks, Tim Harris and Kieran Stocks.
By all accounts a wonderful day was had with some fantastic results. Isabelle Youman gained a seventh position and will now head on to the next level!
Thank you to our parents and Mr Boss-Walker who supported and accompanied the team on the day.
Confirmation Candidates
Congratulations to all Confirmation candidates who made their commitment to be full members of the Catholic Church last Sunday.
It was a special occasion and the candidates should be very proud of their reverence and participation throughout the celebration.
Thank you to Fr Filby, Sr Maureen, Mrs Dellow all the St Joseph’s staff and community who were involved in preparing and supporting these students.
We wish the students well in the next stage of their faith journey.
Gala Day
St Joseph's was very proud to send three teams to this year's league David Peachey/Russell Richardson gala day.
The spirit and efforts in all our teams were amazing.
Our senior side played amazingly only missing the semi-finals by one point.
The year 3/4 teams looked great thanks to the Oberon Leagues club for letting us loan the Tigers’ jerseys.
Both our junior teams improved throughout the day and the experience for the players has already made them very excited for next year. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and friends who made this day a memorable one for all the students involved.
