Greens' David Shoebridge presents notice of motion to Oberon

SPECIAL: David Shoebridge presents mayor Kathy Sajowitz with a notice of motion which will be presented to the community at Oberon Democracy Day on March 25.
NSW Greens Upper House Member David Shoebridge was in Oberon on Tuesday to present something special to Oberon mayor Kathy Sajowitz.
It was a framed notice of motion he got through the Upper House in regards to Oberon Council's fight to stand alone as a council.
The motion reads that this house:
- Commends the work of the Oberon Community, its council and residents’ groups in standing up for their local democracy and defending their right to control their own affairs
- Appreciates the local leadership provided by Mayor Kathy Sajowitz and the team of Oberon Councillors and staff over the past four years, and
- Confirms its respect for local government as an essential pillar of government in this state.
