Tina Lunnon, volunteer leader for Hammondcare, said now they are looking for volunteers in Oberon to provide social contacts for those clients who do not have regular family or community visits.

“Volunteers contribute to a diverse range of needs including social contact, music engagement, gardening, outings through to pet therapy,” she said.

“Sometimes people just need a little care or someone to visit and share a cup of tea, listening to the client and share some stories.

“Volunteers usually spend an hour or two with someone once a week - more they have the time. The feedback that we get from our volunteers is that they have as much fun as the person they are visiting.”
