Dr Godden, who has been practising in Oberon for 36 years, says it's time to move on to other ventures.
He started practising in Oberon in January 1981.
"I have witnessed huge changes over the years, including the new section of the hospital, and the new medical centre,” he said.
"I couldn't count how many babies I've delivered.
"I have worked with a lot of staff for many years. I recognised the camaraderie and family they had grown to become due to the fact that they have worked together for so long."
He said he was pleased to finish his last “on call” night shift.
Dr Godden will continue with his pastoral duties at Christian Life Centre in Oberon and will be working at a practice in Sydney.
Members of Oberon Health Council, staff and former staff at OMPS wished Dr Godden all the best in his next venture.
