Oberon Rugby League president Ian Christie Johnston said Rivett played up for premier division throughout the season.
"Rivett is one of the young talented players we have coming through the ranks,” he said.
Christie Johnston said Rivett will stay with the Oberon Tigers club in 2017, but he will move up to grade football.
"After a successful season in 2016, the club is looking at the junior players coming through to boost player numbers in 2017," Christie Johnston said.
Bathurst Panthers maestro Jeremy Gordon was named the Group 10 player of the year, holding off a stellar crop that included two past winners.
Orange CYMS warhorse Des Knight took out the first division top gong, while Blayney halfback Olivia Bird capped a stellar season by finishing with the league tag top prize.
