She was shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz in Cambodia, where the actress adopted her eldest son, Maddox.
Jolie has not been styled for the shoot and she is seen sitting in a boat wearing casual clothes with her own old Louis Vuitton bag slung around her shoulders.
"People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation," Louis Vuitton's vice president Pietro Beccari told Women's Wear Daily.
"I like the fact that it's a real moment. This travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand... This campaign is about a very special person and a very special journey."
Jolie donated a chunk of her pay cheque to charity.
Other stars who have been involved in the campaign, which highlights the brand's roots in luggage and travel goods, include U2 frontman Bono and Sir Sean Connery.
