Don Miller stepped up this week. He has been pretty regular on getting a ball but this week he was on top of the pile. Balls went to Kim Rawlings, Mick Mooney, Llyod Roots, Joe Casey and Brian Balaam.
Golf on Saturday was a 4BBB stableford and individual sponsored by Lean and Bennett Toyota at Lithgow.
A strong field competed on a nicely prepared course. Adrian Poulten enjoyed the good conditions, winning his match play and with 40 points won A grade.
Hamish Anderson has returned to golf after the winter hockey season and with a good score of 38 points was the runner up.
In B grade the competition was tight, John Crichton with a solid round of 38 points was the winner and Luke Christie Johnston was the runner up on 37 points. The father and son pairing of John and Tim Crichton were too good for the rest of the field in the 4BBB. The grandfather and grandson pair of Don Miller and Luke Christie Johnston were the runners up.
Nearest the pin on the first was Adrian Poulten, just 42 centimetres from the hole. Keith Prendergast won the 7th, Brian Roberts took the 9th and Chris Kalos the 17th.
Balls went to Scott Rowlandson, Terry Robinson, Hamish Anderson, David Slattery, Lenore Zamparini, Bob Rickard, Rob McGrath, Eric Whalan and Tim Crichton.
Golf next Saturday will be an 18 hole stroke, members will play for the monthly medal and counting your putts.
There will be a dinner at the club on Friday being the first Friday of the month. On November 12 the club is hosting a dinner of appreciation for Dick O'Donnell who is soon to move to Bathurst. There is list in the club house you can add your name if you would like to be part of the afternoon.
At this time of the year there is plenty of grass that needs mowing, if you have a couple of hours see Rob at the shed to get directions where to cut.
The club has been in negotiation with the Pro from Wentworth Falls to visit Oberon on a monthly basis. He will be available for lessons for juniors, ladies and the men. Beginners are most welcome. Please contact Barry on 0448 099 801 for more details.
