I don’t know how long you have lived in Oberon, Bob, but from your comments, I’d say about five minutes, as you don`t seem to be up on your facts.
The involvement of the Oberon people in the development of the Common and consultation with the council has been very considerable. Every service club (Apex, Lions and Rotary) and all other organisations in the town have played a big part in the development and construction of the Common over many years.
Council should be congratulated on the excellent job they have done in getting the park to the stage it is at present.
"Rome was not built in a day" and to me these things should not be rushed.
Maybe another 3000 tons of soil should be put there to alter the topography some more if it will help to make the Common into a better and more usable/enjoyable place.
Maybe, Bob, you should just enjoy living in Oberon and watch it develop.
The Common used to be a steep, scrubby, rough and swampy place.
I am proud of the way it looks now and if I am still alive in 10 years, I’m sure I will be even prouder.
From an old, irate and long-time citizen.
