A small field on Saturday played an 18-hole stableford event. There wasn't as much run in the course this week due to the rain on Thursday morning. Scott Rowlandson had a long-awaited return to form with a fine round of 41 points and was the A grade winner. Tim Crichton, with a full set of clubs for the first time in a few weeks, wasn't too far behind to be runner-up with a solid round of 40 points. Having a nine iron in the kit does help, Tim.
Doug Collins showed a clean set of heels to the rest of the field in B grade, winning with 40 points. Kevin McGrath was the runner-up on a countback with 35 points. Balls went to John McKinnon, Adrian Poulten, Sean Mooney and Dick O'Donnell.
Dick was nearest the pin on the first, Doug Collins was closest on the seventh and ninth and Rob McGrath was just 1.3 metres from the pin on the 17th.
Golf next Saturday will be an 18-hole stableford event. There is plenty of grass to be mowed on the course. If you have an hour or two to spare, please call into the work shed and see Rob for instructions on where to mow.
A group of golfers will be travelling to Henbury on Sunday to play in their open day. A ride will be organised if members are interested.
