Jenny Stoneman from Oberon Pharmacy said one in six Oberon residents will be affected by a stroke – which occurs when the supply of blood to the brain is interrupted – some time during their lives.
Those in attendance learnt about early detection and late diagnosis.
FAST stands for facial drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulties and time to call emergency services.
Early recognition of the signs may result in the victim being able to return to a reasonably normal life.
Guests enjoyed morning tea provided by Oberon Council.
