Saturday attracted a strong field of golfers to play a stroke round for the monthly medal and putting competition sponsored by Adrian Poulten.
Terry Robinson has been showing some top form in the past few weeks. He carried his partner to a win in the district 4BBB final, he won A grade last week and again this week. Terry had a fine round of 85/70 and beat his fourball partner on a countback. Rob Hayden had a good round of 76/70 to be runner-up and win the A grade scratch ball.
John Crichton responded to a bit of responsibility when the captain was away and it made him concentrate on his golf as well. He won B grade with 94/66 and Blake Miller was the runner-up with 92/70. Linore Zamparini won the B grade scratch ball with 90 off the stick. Eric Whalan was his usual deadly self on the greens to win the A grade putting with 28 putts. Kevin McGrath claimed the B grade putting with 33 putts.
Nearest the pin was Linore Zamparini on the first, Dennis O'Connell on the seventh, Roger Arrow on the ninth and Peter Ryan on the 17th.
Balls went to Dennis O'Connell, Kyall Ryan, Alan Cairney, Anthony McGrath, Brian Roberts, John McKinnon and Linore Zamparini.
Golf next Saturday will be an 18 hole stableford and 4BBB. On Sunday we will host Oatlands Golf Club for a friendly match and meal prepared by the chef from Oatlands. Let Barry know if you would like to play, but have not yet registered (0448 099 801).
The following Sunday, Oberon will host the Blue Mountains Open. It would be great to have a good local representation.
The club has re-advertised the position of greenkeeper. We hope to fill this position in the near future.
