Cr Sajowitz said she was pleased to hear federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee offering small community project grants of between $2000 and $5000 that do not require an infrastructure component.
"I will be seeking further information from Mr Gee's office,” she said.
"Following on from this meeting we travelled to Sydney for the Country Mayors Association meeting where among other speakers we met Tourism Minister Adam Marshall. This gave the opportunity to speak about several issues concerning Oberon such as Jenolan Caves and the Abercrombie Bridge Project.
"While in Sydney I requested a meeting with several country councils similarly affected by the inequity of unrateable forestry land in their shires. A working party was formed in co-operation with Local Government NSW to collaboratively explore ways to tackle this issue.”
